Cooperation in exchange trading between the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic was one of the key issues on the agenda of the Belarusian-Kyrgyz Business Forum, which took place during the official visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin to Bishkek.

More specifically, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan seek to intensify their interaction in exchange trade development at the level of the business community in order to establish direct interface between Belarusian and Kyrgyz businesses. Importantly, the interests of producers in both countries will be taken into account, allowing both Belarus and Kyrgyzstan to harness the exchange mechanism as a means of unlocking their export potential.
According to Konstantin Chapkovsky, lead foreign relations specialist at BUCE, who presented the exchange trading instruments at the business forum, exchange trade turnover between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan has been on the rise in 2026. However, there is still plenty of room for further growth in terms of quantity and quality.
“Over the first five months of this year, the value of transactions made by exchange traders from Kyrgyzstan increased by 27% year-on-year. This was primarily due to the expansion of the list of goods involved in export and import operations. For example, Belarus has launched regular supplies of sawn timber and chilled beef to Kyrgyzstan, while Kyrgyzstan has started selling raw materials to Belarusian textile companies. At the same time, there are a number of other commodity groups that could serve as bases for mutually beneficial exchange trade. Industrial and consumer goods are among these promising niches. The main advantage here is that the product range is virtually unlimited. It means that Kyrgyz companies can enter the exchange platform with essentially any product that Belarus has demand for,” BUCE spokesman underscored.
Since the beginning of the year, three new companies from Kyrgyzstan have been accredited at BUCE. At present, 44 residents of the Kyrgyz Republic use the Belarusian exchange platform with exports of Belarus-made commodities accounting for 86% of the exchange turnover between the two countries.
