UAE company bought Belarusian feed additives on BUCE for the first time

07/02/2024

For the first time ever, a company from the United Arab Emirates purchased feed additives produced in Belarus on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE). These were essential amino acids – L-threonine, L-tryptophan and L-lysine sulfate – that are widely used in animal husbandry to make various types of animal feed and premixes. The total purchase volume under three exchange transactions amounted to 4840 tons.

According to BUCE, companies from the Middle East have never procured Belarus-made feed additives at exchanged trades before and up till now residents of the Russian Federation were the main buyers of these products.

“One can say that the first exchange transactions for the purchase of amino acids open a new chapter in the development of exchange trade between Belarus and the UEA. The fact is that until now UAE residents have only been interested in importing timber products from Belarus. Thus, in the first half of 2024, they bought some 29 thousand cubic meters of lumber, which is 5.3 times more than they purchased during 12 months of 2023. The entry of Emirati companies into the agricultural segment of the Belarusian commodity market will undoubtedly give an additional impetus to cooperation between Belarus and the UAE in the field of exchange trading and create enabling environment for further growth of mutual trade turnover,” BUTB press service reported.
