Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) can serve as an e-gateway for manufacturers from Pakistan to Belarus and other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Aleksandr Bashliy, BUCE’s Head of Foreign Relations, said during the talks with a Pakistani business delegation in Minsk.

The visit was arranged with the assistance of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization in a bid to intensify investments and trade between Belarus and Pakistan.

“As far as Belarus-Pakistan trade is concerned, BUCE can play a key part as a platform for finding business partners and concluding import-export transactions. We offer a one-stop-shop solution that includes an “electronic storefront” for Pakistani goods plus as set of cutting-edge tools and services designed to facilitate doing business in Belarus. One can participate in the trades directly or through brokers who usually take on some of the risks involved. We already have a broker in Pakistan but we are looking forward to expanding this network,” Aleksandr Bashliy noted.

In this regard, the head of the Pakistani delegation proposed to work out the possibility of selling food and industrial goods produced in Pakistan on BUCE. In his opinion, dried fruits, rice, plastic and leather products will be in high demand among BUCE’s Belarusian clients.

 “However, it is crucial to think through the logistics, because much will depend on it. Therefore, prior to today's meeting, we already identified optimal routes for the transportation of goods in both directions. We hope that the BUCE will help us launch regular supplies of Pakistani goods to Belarus without any intermediaries,” he said.
