The possibility of using BUCE’s import substitution platform to sell China-made products aroused keen interest among the participants of the Belarusian-Chinese business forum “Tianjin – Gateway to China” held during the Mogilev Region Week in Tianjin (People’s Republic of China).
Following B2B talks on the sidelines of the forum, a number of large Chinese manufacturers expressed readiness to supply production equipment, spare parts, and components to the Belarusian industrial and agricultural enterprises. In this respect, BUCE is viewed not only as a point of entry to the Belarusian market but also as a gateway to the Eurasian Economic Union.
“If Tianjin is the gateway to China, then the exchange is a digital window to Belarus and other EAEU countries. Some 3200 companies from Russia, 103 from Kazakhstan, 19 from Kyrgyzstan and 15 from Armenia are registered on our platform. On the one hand, these are potential consumers of Chinese goods, and on the other – they are reliable, BUCE-vetted suppliers of products that are in demand in China. By participating in exchange trades, a Chinese company gets access to a whole range of handy tools that it can use to address almost any issues related to sales and purchasing activities abroad. So far, our Chinese partners have been mainly acting as importers purchasing Belarusian timber, rapeseed oil, dairy products, and petrochemicals. Therefore, we would like to see more Chinese manufacturers on our electronic marketplace. Producers of import-substituting goods are particularly welcome, as these commodities are in high demand both in Belarus and Russia,” German Puzyrny, BUCE’s Deputy Head of Foreign Economic Affairs, said when presenting the advantages of the exchange mechanism to the Chinese business community.
A part of the visit to Tianjin, BUCE delegation also attended the World Intelligence Congress (WIC). During the event, BUCE experts had an opportunity to share experience in electronic exchange trading and study the latest advancements in the field of information security and big data analysis that could be applied in Belarus.
