AP Sakafat Forever has become BUCE’s first broker from Pakistan. The company has been buying sawn timber on BUCE since December 2021, and has now decided to expand its operations in Belarus by gaining the broker status. This will enable AP Sakafat Forever to represent Pakistani companies interested in buying not only Belarusian timber products but also petrochemicals (acrylic fiber), agricultural products (milk powder) as well as industrial and consumer goods. Apart from that, AP Sakafat Forever intends to explore the potential of BUCE’s import substitution platform.
Aleksandr Osmolovsky, BUCE Chairman, thanked the Embassy of Pakistan in Belarus for the information support that helped bring Pakistani companies to the exchange and encourage them to use the exchange trade instruments to launch or scale up their business in Belarus. In a way, the new broker from Pakistan is going to become BUCE’s official representative in Pakistan.
“We will provide the necessary guidance to the company at every stage of its activity in a new status. In general, we are ready to provide any training services, including on-site workshops, so that Pakistani business people can get answers to all their questions – be it general information or bid submission procedure”, BUCE Chairman assured.
The solemn ceremony of awarding the broker accreditation certificate was held on August 16. Attending the event was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan. The diplomat first visited BUCE a year ago and all this time he has been actively supporting the exchange's efforts to build contacts with the Pakistani business community. The ambassador thanked BUCE for its willingness to welcome any Pakistani business delegations circles, even very small ones.
“All the companies that visited BUCE head office became very enthusiastic about launching their operations in Belarus, including participation in exchange trades. If needed, we are ready to provide samples of Pakistani products and make every effort to promote and facilitate trade relations between our countries,” Sajjad Haider Khan said.
Jawad ur Rehman Slehria, President of AP Sakafat Forever, noted that obtaining the broker accreditation certificate is not just a formality but a deliberate and well-calculated step for the company.
“We have prepared a list of goods that can be delivered from Belarus to Pakistan and vice versa, worked out logistics, bank payments. In particular, we intend to use BUCE’s sub-accounts for settlements under exchange contracts. We believe that our turnover could reach about 150 million USD and we will explore all the opportunities offered by the exchange platform to achieve it,” Jawad ur Rehman Slehria claims.
BUCE's import substitution platform was also presented during the meeting. The Pakistani side spoke highly of the new tool, noting that this is a unique solution that opens up great prospects for Belarus-Pakistan trade, especially for the manufacturers of custom-made goods. In this regard, Jawad ur Rehman Slehria expressed his readiness to arrange a workshop together with the chambers of commerce and industry of large cities of Pakistan in order to show how information technologies and cutting-edge solutions bring countries closer and help foster business contacts.
