BUCE's participation in the FATF webinar

On May 6th, 2021, the specialists of the security department of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange took part in a webinar organized by the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF, FATF).

The webinar covered the main provisions of the Guidelines for the application of a risk-based approach in surveillance, issued in March this year. The experienced speakers from the international community on ensuring the availability of financial services spoke with explanations on the methods of organizing and implementing supervision with the choice of the intensity of control activities depending on the risk category.

The webinar audience consisted of more than one hundred participants. From the Belarusian side were the representatives of the National Bank, the Ministries of Finance, Justice, Taxes and Duties, Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, Communications and Informatization, the State Property Committee, the Hi-Tech Park, etc.

The Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) is an intergovernmental organization created in 1989, aims to develop global standards in the field of money laundering and the financing of terrorism issues (AML / CFT), and evaluate the compliance of national AML / CFT systems with these standards.
The main FATF instrument is 40 AML / CFT recommendations, which are reviewed on average every five years, and 9 special recommendations in the field of countering the financing of terrorism, developed after September 11, 2001.
The FATF recommendations are recognized by over 180 countries as an international standard against money laundering and terrorist financing.
