BUCE registered a broker in Israel

03/23/2021

Gelfand Projects has become BUCE’s first broker in Israel. The company’s trader has already passed the exam and is now authorized to participate in exchange trades.

According to Boris Gelfand, Gelfand Projects CEO, in the near future the company intends to establish regular supplies of the Belarusian sawn products to Israel where these products are highly sought after.

Борис ГельфандWe specialize in distribution and branding of furniture and other wood products. Until recently, we have been mostly working with Ukrainian suppliers, and now as part of our expansion strategy we’ve decided to venture into the Belarusian market. At first, we are going to focus on sawn timber, as we know this area inside out and it won’t be hard for us to find potential buyers. In this respect, BUCE’s key advantage is that it unites hundreds of state-run and private sawmills, which means that we do not have to negotiate deals with each of them individually. That is why when we were mulling over the prospect of doing business in Belarus, we did not consider any other option but exchange trades”, the Israeli businessman stressed.

Boris Gelfand also mentioned that his company is thinking about expanding the range of goods that could be sourced from Belarus via BUCE. In particular, there are plans to supply Belarusian metal products to Israel.

I’m aware that rebar manufactured by the Byelorussian Steel Works is successfully traded on BUCE. In Israel, these products are also in great demand. Therefore, along with sawn timber, we would like to develop this area as well. On the whole, I believe that exchange trading has a huge potential that we intend to tap into”, Gelfand Projects CEO said.

BUCE currently has over 50 accredited brokers, including 9 foreign companies from China, Estonia, Germany, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Russia.
