BUCE unveils new trading pit

07/02/2020

On July 1, 2020, following several months of renovations, BUCE opened its head office along with a brand new trading pit for visitors. A trading pit, or simply a pit, is a special place on BUCE premises where exchange trades are held. It also houses workstations of exchange maklers – members of BUCE staff authorized to monitor trades, adjust duration of trading sessions and make sure that traders observe BUCE rules and regulations. BUCE unveils new trading pit According to BUCE Chairman Alexander Osmolovski, the pit is not merely a workplace of exchange maklers but also a symbol of openness and transparency of exchange trades. BUCE Chairman Alexander Osmolovski “The pit can be viewed as an embodiment of our customer-centric policy which we have recently put in place and intend to pursue for years to come. It means that exchange trades will no longer be held behind closed doors. Instead, any visitor of our head office will be able to see with his or her own eyes how transactions are made and how exchange maklers fulfill their duties. I believe that our customers will appreciate this gesture and the level of trust towards BUCE as a trading platform will increase both at home and abroad”, BUCE Chairman underscored. trading platform Exchange maklers representing BUCE’s timber products, metal products, agricultural products and promising commodities sections were the first to descend into the pit. Exchange maklers Prior to the start of the first trades in the new pit, each makler received a special badge and a Swiss wristwatch to highlight their importance and meaning for BUCE.
