BUCE expands export geography of feed additives and plant oils

10/22/2020

BUCE has recorded the first transaction with beet pulp executed by a Dutch company. The value of the contract was 547 thousand USD. Prior to that, BUCE’s trading platform has never used for export of feed additives and plant oils to the Netherlands. It means that the sales geography of these products via BUCE now comprises 7 countries, and namely Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Switzerland accounts for the biggest amount of purchases – over 7 million USD. The second place goes to Lithuania with 6.2 million USD worth of transactions. Finally comes Estonia that has imported the Belarusian rapeseed oil to the tune of 5.4 million USD. Importantly, all of these markets have exhibited exponential growth over the last 9 months: Switzerland – by 96%, Lithuania – by 2.5 times, and Estonia – by 3.6 times.

Since the beginning of the year, some 30 thousand tons of feed additives and plant oils worth 24.1 million USD have been exported via BUCE. It is twice as much as in 2019 both in monetary terms and in kind. Impressive sales figures are the result of a major spike in demand for rapeseed oil in Europe. On the back of increasing prices in Germany, Czech Republic and Belgium that are considered the biggest rapeseed oil exporters, the Belarusian products have become more competitive, which contributed to a significant boost in the amount of transactions executed on BUCE’s trading platform.
