Prospects of cooperation between BUCE and Dow Jones & Company became the central topic of the talks with Dow Jones Client Value Executive Andrey Senuk. The meeting took place on January 29 at BUCE headquarters in Minsk.

Among other things, the sides discussed the possibility of BUCE using Dow Jones’ Factiva tool when preparing analytical reviews and reports on the situation in the Belarusian commodity and OTC markets. According to Andrey Senuk, in contrast to information systems offered by Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters that accumulate data in the form of diagrams, quotations and indexes, Factiva provides access to textual information – news, articles, statistical reports, etc.

“Our information system is accessible via Internet from virtually any device. Thanks to various smart filters and search operators it often takes seconds to find the data and facts you need”, Dow Jones representative noted.

BUCE representatives in their turn offered to make the exchange a source of information for Factiva.

“As BUCE is the only commodity exchange in Belarus we own unique information about the country’s exchange and OTC commodity markets. Currently, these data are distributed in the form of information and analytical products. We also accommodate individual requests for data samples from our extensive database. We believe that some Dow Jones Factiva subscribers will be interested in receiving this information, particularly if they are considering doing business in Belarus”, BUCE experts think.

Concluding the negotiations, the sides agreed to look into the possible mechanism of collaboration between BUCE and Dow Jones.
