Polish woodworkers willing to buy more Belarusian timber via BUCE

On June 21, BUCE head office played host to a meeting with a delegation of Polish business delegation consisting of over 20 representatives of the country’s leading woodworking companies. Piotr Masajlo, head of the trade and investments department of the Polish Embassy in Minsk, also attended the event.

The members of the delegation watched a presentation of BUCE’s key business activities and learned about the main advantages of using the exchange mechanism for trading with Belarusian companies. The Polish businessmen also studied the peculiarities and procedure of buying timber at exchange auctions with an option to collect the purchased goods from one of exchange warehouses operating in Poland.

Already during the presentation, the representatives of several Polish companies expressed interest in purchasing timber via BUCE. Transactions with other product categories were also under consideration. Given this fact, the electronic trading platform of industrial and consumer goods was recognized as the most promising and versatile since it allows buying and selling a wide range of goods that are not listed under BUCE’s metal, timber and agricultural products sections.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached with a number of Polish enterprises to arrange additional B2B talks in order to draw up a list of Belarusian commodities that could be bought at BUCE’s electronic platforms and successfully sold in Poland.
