On December 26, Olesya Slizheva, representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Spain, visited BUCE head office to get an insight into BUCE’s activities and discuss cooperation prospects.

During the talks, the sides identified a list of Belarusian products that could be sold in Spain via BUCE as well as Spanish commodities that Belarusian companies would be willing to buy. More specifically, there are plans to convince major Spanish tube manufacturers to join BUCE and trade directly with Belarusian consumers bypassing all intermediaries. In addition, Belarusian enterprises exhibit steady demand for soybean meals, plant protecting agents, apple pectin, and cacao beans. All these goods could be purchased at BUCE’s electronic platforms. As far as exports are concerned, the exchange mechanism could help boost foreign sales of the Belarusian sawn timber, rapeseed oil, casein, and citric acid.

According to Olesya Slizheva, few Spanish companies are currently aware of the opportunities offered by BUCE. That is why the best way to start cooperation would be by organizing joint events aimed at raising the awareness of the Spanish business community regarding the advantages of buying and selling goods via the exchange. Olesya Slizheva also expressed willingness to assist BUCE with finding an eligible company that would act as BUCE’s broker in Spain.
