BUCE attends AFM anniversary conference in Argentina

03/22/2017

On March 9-11, BUCE delegation attended the 20th anniversary conference of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM) in the cities of Buenos Aires and Rosario (Argentina). This event, jointly organized by Buenos Aires Futures and Options Exchange (MATba) and Rosario Futures Exchange (ROFEX) gathered some 50 exchange officials and authorities from around the globe.

During two days, the industry’s top experts addressed a whole range of issues related to international exchange trade, including the development of futures markets in South America, new derivatives trading technologies, global trends in over-the-counter trading as well as market integration and challenges faced by exchanges in emerging markets.

BUCE representatives took part in the panel discussion dedicated to regional exchanges. The participants focused on the recent proliferation and expansion of big global exchanges and analyzed its impact on smaller regional exchanges, such as Asian exchanges and South American exchanges. BUCE shared positive experience of dealing with similar challenges in the Eurasian Economic Union and provided advice on the most efficient implementation of market integration initiatives.

founded in 1997, Association of Futures Markets (AFM) is one of the world’s biggest international exchange organization uniting 27 exchanges from 20 countries. BUCE has been AFM full member since 2011.
