On October 10–12, BUCE delegation took part in the international specialized timber industry exhibition Timber Expo 2017 in Birmingham, UK, which brought together some 700 exhibitors from all around the globe. The Republic of Belarus was represented by five companies: Belarusian Forestry Company, Ivatsevichdrev, Bellesexport, SP BZS, and BUCE. The visitors of the joint exhibition stand had a chance to get familiar with the export potential of the Belarusian woodworking industry and BUCE’s e-trading platform for timber products.

British businessmen were particularly interested in the Belarusian sawn timber, wooden stakes, fuel wood, and other products sold via BUCE to the European Union and beyond. According to them, the logistics infrastructure developed by BUCE over the years makes this area of cooperation particularly promising. Besides, should a BUCE-certified exchange warehouse appear in the UK, this would help streamline the supply chain and bring down the cost of the Belarusian timber for British consumers.

As part of the exhibition, BUCE also held a presentation of its services titled “BUCE: electronic solutions for timber export”. The attendees of the presentation received detailed information on BUCE’s core business activities, rules and regulations governing the exchange trade in Belarus, as well as advantages of using BUCE’s electronic platforms for buying and selling timber domestically and internationally. Following the presentation, a number of British companies expressed interest in cooperation with BUCE as traders or exchange brokers.
