BUCE seeks to bolster cooperation with Czech Republic

04/09/2016

On April 4-7, BUCE delegation visited the Czech Republic to establish new business contacts and strengthen cooperation with the Czech business community.

During its stay in Veselí nad Moravou, BUCE experts met with top managers of Vesna Interiors s.r.o., one of the Czech Republic’s biggest furniture manufacturers. The sides elaborated a joint action plan designed to involve more European companies in exchange trade and drafted a list of prospective commodities. Furthermore, BUCE and Vesna Interiors s.r.o. studied the feasibility of setting up a joint venture that would operate a new B2B electronic trading platform. If created, this platform would be focused on the EU market and enable EU clients not only to access the trading system and research the available bids and offers but also conclude actual transactions. This project also provides for registration of exchange warehouses in the Czech Republic and Austria as a means to optimize the delivery of goods purchased at BUCE to European consumers.

When in Prague, BUCE delegation held talks with a number of Czech industrial enterprises interested in buying Belarusian plywood, MDF boards and sawn timber as well as with Agrofert Holding a.s. – a major agricultural holding company that considered entering the Eurasian Union market by using BUCE’s electronic platforms as a doorway. In addition, BUCE representatives met with Valeri Kurdiukov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Czech Republic, in order to work out some joined measures aimed at promotion of BUCE’s services in the Czech Republic and other EU member states.
