Meeting with heads of diplomatic missions
07/14/2015
On June 9, 2015, BUCE head office played host to the meeting with heads of Belarus’ diplomatic missions abroad. The aim of the visit of 60 high-ranking diplomats was to get familiar with BUCE’s activity as an organizer of electronic export auctions as well as with possibilities of the electronic trading platform of industrial and consumer goods (ICG) as an effective instrument for boosting exports and diversifying sales markets.
The core topic on the agenda was to discuss the possibility of BUCE and diplomatic missions joining efforts in a bid to involve more foreign companies in exchange trade, primarily at the ICG platform. Key advantages of this platform were highlighted by Arkady Salikov, BUCE Chairman. ICG platform operates round the clock allowing for online trading in a wide range of commodities (both – listed and non-listed at the exchange) from any part of the world. This makes it a handy tool for diplomatic missions that can use it to promote Belarusian products in their countries of stay. In this case, BUCE not only enables buyers and sellers to sign contracts in the electronic form but guarantees the fulfillment of contractual obligations, which minimizes the costs and risks arising from foreign trade.
Evgeni Miklashevich, BUCE head of marketing, provided the Belarusian diplomats with an insight into the functionality of the ICG platform. In particular, he pointed out the main features that distinguish the platform from similar solutions, described the procedure of submitting offers and indicated prospects of cooperation with diplomatic missions that could facilitate participation of foreign economic agents in exchange auctions.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to establish closer cooperation between BUCE and diplomatic missions in information sharing, organizing joint events and rendering assistance to Belarusian exporters.
