On October 14-17, 2015, BUCE working group led by Oleg Yakubovich, BUCE Senior Vice-Chairman, attended the Universal Exposition EXPO 2015 in Milan (Italy) to make a presentation of the commodity exchange services for the Italian business community.
BUCE representatives took part in the business conference “Potential of Italy-Russia cooperation” held at the Russian Federation Pavilion as part of the visit of Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, and Moscow Government.
Besides speeches delivered by Russian and Italian executives, the agenda of the conference also included B2B talks during which the information about BUCE’s activities was conveyed to a number of high-ranking officials from both Italy and Russia. In this respect the meeting with Vincenzo Trani, Honorary Consul of the Italian Republic in the Republic of Belarus, proved particularly fruitful.
In addition, the National Pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at EXPO 2015 played host to BUCE Business Forum that gathered over 40 representatives of the Italian business community. Oleg Yakubovich, BUCE Senior Vice-Chairman, made a report on the “Prospects of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Italian Republic through active implementation of exchange trade instruments”. BUCE’s services were presented as part of the report “BUCE electronic platforms – a key to EAEU markets” delivered by Vitaliy Kolos, Head of BUCE Moscow Office, whereas Alexander Bashliy, BUCE Head of Foreign Relations, explained the “Peculiarities of trading timber, metal and agricultural products as well industrial and consumer goods at the commodity exchange”.
All reports were well received by the participants of the Forum, which allowed BUCE experts to establish solid business contacts with top managers of major Italian companies interested in developing trade and economic cooperation with the Republic of Belarus by using BUCE’s electronic trading platforms.
During the trip to Italy, BUCE working group also visited national pavilions of Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Moldova and other countries to inform the administrations of national expositions about key advantages of using electronic trading platforms in bilateral trade.
