On June 8-11, 2015, Arkady Salikov, BUCE Chairman of the Board, took part in the 11thLithuania-Belarus Economic Forum in Marijampole (Republic of Lithuania) with a report on “Practical aspects of using BUCE’s electronic trading platforms to bolster trade and economic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania”.

The agenda of the Forum included talks with Gediminas Rainys, Vice President of the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists, Egidijus Simonis, Director of the Confederation of Lithuanian Food Industry, Raimondas Beinortas, Director of the Association of Woodworkers “Lietuvos mediena”, Remigijus Lapinskas, member of the Board of the Lithuanian Association of Bioenergy “LITBIOMA”, Gintaras Vilda, Director of the Association of Lithuanian Industry “LINPRA”, Vytautas Verbiсkas, CEO of “Armo Logistics & Engineering”, Gediminas Pauliukevičius, Director of the Lithuanian Technological Park “Northern Town” and Dovydas Varkulevičius Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship “Enterprise Lithuania”.

During the talks, the sides discussed ways of involving more Lithuanian companies in exchange auctions at BUCE thus contributing to the bilateral trade. Agreements were reached with the representatives of the Lithuanian business community to come up with promising areas of cooperation and specific commodities that could be interesting for buyers and sellers in Belarus and Lithuania.
