2012.08.13 | Ukraine bans dairy imports from Belarus’ Bellakt Ukraine has temporarily suspended imports of all products of animal origin made by Volkovysk-based Bellakt, Ukraine’s Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service said in a statement.This ban was issued by Chief State Inspector for Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine. Following the analysis carried out by the Kiev State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary-Sanitary Examination, Bellakt products of animal origin (powdered milk for infants Bellakt 2 Bifido) were found non-complaint with microbiological indicators. According to the official report, Bellakt 2 Bifido appears to contain mould. In turn, experts of the veterinary monitoring and food security department of Belarus’ Agriculture Ministry said mould could have been the result of improper storage.
