2012.07.02 | Minsk to control Russian-Belarusian potash JV Soyuzkali The activities of yet-to-be-set-up Russian-Belarusian potash fertilizer trader Soyuzkali will be controlled from Minsk despite being registered abroad, Belarusian Potash Company, the existing joint venture of Russia’s Uralkali and Belarus’ Belaruskali said Monday.Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said earlier that Soyuzkali will be registered in Switzerland and begin operations in February 2013. “The change of jurisdiction does not mean an actual transition of its office from Belarus to Switzerland. The activities of Soyuzkali will be controlled from Minsk, while the company will get a wide range of possibilities related to tax incentives and access to credit resources,” he said. Uralkali and Belaruskali plan to own equal stakes in the new company. PRIME-TASS return |
