2012.07.02 | Belarus posts 1.1% inflation for first 19 days of June Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 1.1% over the first 19 days of June 2012 and 9.7% since early this year, the National Statistics Committee told reporters.The largest increase in retail prices was registered with carrots (66.1%), fresh cabbages (56.2%), potatoes (35.7%), bread and bakery goods (3.7%), beer (2.3%), butter (2.1%), beef (except for boneless meat) and boneless beef (1.5%), half-smoked sausages, prefabricated poultry (1.4%), prime-grade boiled sausage (1.3%), hard cheese, wheat flour, soft beverages (0.9-1.2%), petrol (5.3%), fabrics (2.2%), wallpaper (1%), clothes, hosiery and knitwear garments (0.5%), kindergarten fees (9.2%), healthcare vacations (6.9%), housing and utilities (6.5%), public city transport (2.2%), household services (1.6%). As previously reported, Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 108.7% in 2011, although the initial forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%. Belarus’ inflation forecast for 2012 stands at 19-22%.
