2012.07.02 | Belarus ready to buy Russia’s Rostselmash Belarus is ready to buy out Russia’s Rostselmash and get the new asset incorporated by Belarus-based Gomselmash farming machinery producer. Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich made a statement to this effect in a report to Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko, the president’s press-service reports.Belarus’ Government suggests merging Gomselmash and Rostselmash “on a market basis,” the press service said. “We will discuss the matter with the Russians. Belarus is ready to buy Rostselmash, if Russia agrees to sell the asset. Today, three states (Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan) have a large domestic market of fodder and grain harvesters. We reckon that a single company could operate on this market,” the Belarusian premier said. Rostselmash Group, which includes 12 companies, is among the world’ top five producers of farming machinery. Gomselmash Production Association was founded in 1978 on the core of the Gomselmash plant, which was founded in 1930. It is one of the largest producers of agricultural equipment in the CIS and Europe. It manufactures self-propelled and towed harvesters, crushing mowing machines, grain combine harvesters and mounted shredding mowing machines.
