2010.03.05 | Heineken International B.V. acquires 9.2% stake in Rechitsapivo brewery Heineken International B.V. has acquired a 9.2% stake in Rechitsapivo brewery at 2.298 billion BYR, 26,000 rubles per share, is said in a statement of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.The buyer is supposed to invest at least 1.5 million EUR in production in monetary assets (a loan). The shareholding will be unblocked and transferred to the ownership of Heineken International B.V. after the investor transfers 1.5 million EUR in loans to develop the production, under an investment agreement. The investor is supposed to preserve the core production and develop an additional soft drink production at Rechitsapivo. Rechitsapivo, established in 1975, was transformed into a joint Belarusian-Lithuanian venture in 2000. In May 2008, Heineken International B.V. acquired 51% in the brewery, but its shareholding later increased after Heineken bought minority stakes. Heineken’s current shareholding in Rechitsapivo is 95.4%. There is still 4.6% in the hands of minorities. PRIME-TASS backward |
