2010.03.05 | Heineken International B.V. to invest 1.5 million EUR in Rechitsapivo 2010

Heineken International B.V., which has acquired a 9.2% stake in Rechitsapivo brewery, plans to invest 1.5 million EUR in the company in 2010, told to Prime-Tass a representative in Heineken.

The brewery has completed the assembly of pipework for cylindroconical vessels for beer, development of software for the tanks and assembly of the water treatment unit.

According to the representative in Heineken, the new water treatment unit will upgrade the quality of water used for brewing to top international standards. New equipment is being installed in the fermentation and lager shops. In late 2009, new microbiological and chemical laboratories were launched.

Heineken also plans to install a kvass-making line at Rechitsapivo.

In 2010, Heineken sees output at Rechitsapivo at 1.25 million decaliters, including 1 million decaliters of beer and 250,000 decaliters of kvass.

Due to the reconstruction and upgrade, most of the Rechitsapivo brands are now produced at Syabar.

Rechitsapivo, established in 1975, was transformed into a joint Belarusian-Lithuanian venture in 2000. In May 2008, Heineken International B.V. acquired 51% in the brewery, but its shareholding later increased after Heineken bought minority stakes.

Heineken’s current shareholding in Rechitsapivo is 95.4%.
