2012.06.25 | Statistics: Steel production in Russia up 5.3% in January–May Russia’s steel output increased 5.3% on the year to 30 million tonnes in January–May, according to the Federal State Statistics Service’s report seen on Wednesday.Ferrous rolled stock production increased 7.3% to 26.2 million tonnes, cast iron output rose 8.1% to 21.4 million tonnes, while steel pipe output fell 12.0% to 3.8 million tonnes. Coal output increased 5.8% on the year to 141.2 million tonnes in January–May, coal concentrate output rose 0.4% to 34.3 million tonnes, and coke output was up 1% to 11.4 million tonnes.
