2011.05.16 | Ministry: African swine fever quarantine introduced in Krasnodar RegionThe branch of Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry in the Southern Federal District said Tuesday that a quarantine had been introduced in the Gulkevichsky district of the Krasnodar Region because of an outbreak of African swine fever.
The African swine fever virus, or ASFV, is a contagious viral disease, which is potentially lethal to infected animals. ASFV poses no health risk to humans, according to the World Organization of Animal Health.
