2010.12.06 | Ukraine’s government sees steel production up 4% on year in 2011

Steel production in Ukraine is expected to increase 4% on the year to 33.3 million tonnes in 2011, according to the government’s forecast obtained.

Production of rolled stock and cast iron is expected to increase by the same amount in 2011 from 30 million tonnes and 27 million tonnes, respectively, planned for 2010.

In January–October, steel output rose 10% on the year to 26.882 million tonnes, rolled stock output was up 9% to 24.03 million tonnes, and cast iron output increased 7% to 22.605 million tonnes.
