2010.04.23 | Customs union: Raw sugar import duty to fall to $50 per tn in May The import duty on raw sugar will fall to U.S. $50 per tonne on May 1 from the current $140 per tonne, a commission of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan said in a statement.The duty was decreased to $140 per tonne on January 1 from $165 per tonne previously. In the period from January through March, the average price for raw sugar amounted to $537.69 per tonne on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the commission said.
