2012.06.19 |  Executive committee of the CIS visited BUCE

On the 18^th of June 2012 Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive committee – Executive secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Vladimir Garkun, first deputy of Chairman of the Executive committee of the CIS, paid a visit to Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange OJSC where they were met by Arkady Salikov, Chairperson of the Board.

During the meeting attended by Valentin Chekanov, the Minister of trade of the Republic of Belarus, the participants discussed possibilities of applying instruments of electronic exchange trade (through the example of BUCE) as elements of market economy that facilitate integration processes on the post soviet area and paving the road for increased efficiency of trading and purchasing for organizations of the CIS member countries.

Particular interest of the CIS Executive committee heads was provoked by information of BUCE initiatives as well as their practical implementation carried out within the framework of the Committee on Commodity Markets at the International Association of Exchanges of the CIS (hereinafter – CCM IAE CIS) as exemplified in the 2^nd session of CCM IAE CIS in Almaty (7^th of June this year).

An agreement was reached that in the nearest future additional consultations will take place in the CIS Executive committee attended by heads of IAE CIS, CCM IAE CIS, and the parties’ experts with regard to defining measures pivotal for the development of the important direction for the integration processes to which the CIS Executive committee is prepared to give any possible support.
